How Sucking In Can Get You A Flat StomachThe Russian twist is one of my favourite flat stomach exercises and is easy to perform. You need to get yourself into the situp position, start at the top and hold a weight out in front of you with both hands. Keeping your arms straight you twist your torso to the right until your arms are parallel with the floor. You can hold the position for a second and then return to the starting position. Repeat this twisting to the left and include the pause. This is one repetition.

As a beginner you should aim to complete around 5 to 10 repetitions of this exercises for anywhere between 1 & 3 sets. As you improve you will want to try to increase the repetitions to between 10 and 20 and the number of sets to between 3 and 5. You can also look to increase the weight being held if you need to increase the intensity of the workout.
